The Problem With Our Government

*Note: I have no idea what a blog is supposed to look like or whatever so #dontjudge (do people use hashtags in blogs?)*

Problem 1: Voting Problem

Who is the United States government run by? Congress? Obama? Court? No. The United States government is a democracy. Demo meaning people and cracy meaning government. It is the people's government. However, despite popular belief, your vote really doesn't matter much at all. States purposefully divide the voting regions that are mostly one way or another. So, if one half of a town is republican while the other half is democratic, they will divide the town so that one voting region has a democratic majority, the democratic side of the town, and one voting region has a republican majority, the republican majority. So, if you are a republican in a democratic zone or a republican in a republican zone (or with democratic), majority still wins and your vote is rendered useless. 

How can this be fixed? One suggestion is to make an online web where voters vote and that particular vote is counted. This strategy cuts out the middle man and is more democratic where your vote truly does count.

Problem 2: The People

As mentioned previously, the government is run by the people for the people. Therefore, in order for the government to be effective, the people have to be willing to work and not take advantage of government policies that are designed to help those who work hard and still struggle. I read somewhere that republicans have no heart and democrats have no brain. well if people would not take advantage we could have both. That, budget cuts, and increase taxes could reduce the deficit.
